SILENCING STRESS ... Learning to Choose Balance |
In this seminar, focus is on the relationship between attitude/perception and stress levels. The effect of negative “self-talk” vs. positive “self-talk” on emotions and behavior is explored, and participants are encouraged to prioritize and manage proactively rather than reactively. Additionally, participants are introduced to and can actively experience bio-feedback techniques, so as to help them reduce stress and achieve balance |
| |
MANAGING YOUR ANGER |
This seminar focuses on the same skills as “Taming the Dragon “, but is designed for general audiences. Key points include learning to understand the meaning and concept of anger, disengaging emotionally from escalating feelings, expressing your anger effectively, and learning to prevent destructive anger. |
| |
COMMUNICATING MORE EFFECTIVELY
|
This seminar helps participants look at the feelings behind the self-defeating communication in which most of us engage, and learn how to express those feelings in ways which will invite cooperation rather than confrontation. Learning to become an effective listener is discussed as a critical component of effective dialogue. |
| |
BUILDING SELF-ESTEEM ... The Key to Assertiveness |
In addition to helping participants better understand the ingredients of self-esteem, this seminar assists in learning how to affirm yourself, how to change negative attitudes, how to manage anxiety, and how to constructively express feelings. |
| |
LIVING INTENTIONALLY... The Key to Getting What You Want |
This empowering seminar will help participants understand and overcome the obstacles that prevent them from having what they want in life—a satisfying relationship, a fulfilling career, or simply a sense of inner peace. By exploring the concept of selective focusing of intention, and through the use of a variety of techniques, participants are helped to recognize and change self-limiting perceptions and behaviors, and to begin to experience their full potential. |

PARENTING Topics |
| |
BUILDING YOUR CHILD’S SELF ESTEEM |
This interactive seminar focuses on self-esteem as the key factor which prepares us for success in our lives. While defining what it is, as well as what it is not, parents are helped to recognize the importance of affirming themselves as role models for their children. Emphasis is placed on understanding the power of expectations, as well as exploring those factors which enhance self-esteem, and those which detract from it, and how we, as parents, can differentiate between the two. Participants will gain a theoretical understanding of the topic, but will also learn specific techniques to employ in their lives. |
| |
DISCIPLINE IS NOT A DIRTY WORD! |
The objective of this seminar is to explore the general characteristics of effective discipline, and how it helps children learn self-control and cooperation. Emphasis is placed on discipline as a learning process, rather than as punishment. Parents are helped to recognize how some of their ingrained and reflexive approaches to changing children’s behavior are ineffective, and often damaging. Instead, they are encouraged to focus on more positive approaches to discipline. |
| |
HOW TO STOP YELLING AND START LISTENING |
Understanding and developing effective communication skills which will result in a cooperative and respectful family environment is the goal of this seminar. Emphasis is placed on helping parents manage anger, and effectively express al levels of feelings to their children. In addition, parents are taught specific listening techniques to promote mutual respect and encourage cooperation. |
| |
PROMOTING SELF ESTEEM THROUGH PLAY
|
This seminar helps parents understand the critical value and meaning of play in the development of self esteem. The consequences of the fact that most children today “work” more than “play” are explored, and parents are aided in recognizing self-defeating and negative effects that our cultural practices have on the intellectual, social and emotional development of children. In addition, parents get a chance to “play”, and are assisted in developing meaningful play opportunities for their children. |
| |
UNDERSTAND AND ENJOY YOUR TEEN
|
In This seminar, parents are helped to gain an understanding of some of the motivating factors in adolescent behavior, and how their responses to this behavior can either discourage or encourage the development of a healthy and effective family environment. Emphasis is placed on understanding and reducing power struggles, as well as developing effective communication skills, particularly in the area of listening. Parents will learn specific skills they can use to change their own behavior, and in so doing, positively effect the behavior of their teen. |
| |
PARENTAL ANGER ... TAMING THE DRAGON
|
As parents we are often surprised and overwhelmed by the intensity of emotions that can be triggered in us by our children. The most frightening of these are anger and rage, and the unproductive and guilt producing behavior that often follows. This seminar focuses on helping parents understand and manage anger so as to create a positive sense of self-worth in themselves and in their children. Emphasis is placed on learning to change some of our perceptions about these emotions, as well as looking at specific methods of dealing with them when they arise. |
